1. What is the difference between Dynamic and Condenser microphones?

 The dynamic mics use a diaphragm, voice coil, and magnet to pick the sound waves and convert them into an electrical signal. Condenser mics use an electrically-charged diaphragm, which when vibrates, an electrical signal is generated that is proportional to the sound.


2. What is directionality?

 Directionality is a microphone's sensitivity to sound relative to the direction or angle from which the sound arrives


3. Why would you use a Lavalier? A  Shotgun? A Handheld Dynamic?

A lavalier microphone or lavalier is a small microphone used for television, theater, and public speaking applications to allow hands-free operationShotgun mics are highly directional and ideal for use in noisy environments, such as crowded streets or busy restaurantsHandheld microphones are designed to be held in the hand, but they can also be clipped onto a microphone stand whilst someone sings, gives a speech, plays guitar, etc.
