Sound Design- Dynamic Range and Metering

Image
 1. What is Dynamic Range? The  dynamic  range of any recording is defined as  the ratio of the loudest peak to the quietest, expressed in decibels (dB) .  2.  How does it affect Sound Recording? Sound recordings  with a wide dynamic range will have a larger gap between the loudest sound and quiet sound compared to songs with more consistent sound quality . 3.  Why is metering important? Metering  helps you see the gain of your instruments when you record, the loudness of your tracks when you mix and the dynamic range of your mixes when you master .  4.  How can it help us with our sound recording? In mixing and mastering,  metering  is any useful visual  aid  that shows  us  where  we  stand.
